Out On Bail

7/11/06

Out On Bail

This night started out as a trip, literally.   Twitch and I had been tipped off about a kick ass band playing about 40 min away and we figured we’d check em out.  Well, we had vague idea of where we were going and after stopping off at a gas station to get directions we found ourselves at the Lighthouse in Zanesville OH.  We had come for two things Beer and Rock and Roll.  And we found both.  Out On Bail was just getting ready to start their first set when we walked in.  We grabbed a few brews lit up a few Blue Connecticuts, sat back and enjoyed.

With a wide selection in their sets ranging from covers of Blues Traveler to Lynyrd Skynyrd they just kept rocking harder and harder.  I don’t think there was a single song that didn’t wail.  These guys just played with more and more energy the longer they were up there.  Fueled by a combination of adrenaline and alcohol they laid down one sick track after another until the AM hours.

I was impressed with their use of the stage and by that I mean the whole bar.  They use wireless on their Mics and instruments like they really are wireless.  The lead singer as well as the guitarists moved around and interact with the crowd making it a show instead of a recital.  This beats the crap out of watching someone hide behind a mic for 3 hours IMHO.   The covers were true to the original bands but with a distinctive style that they brought themselves.  Face it if you want to listen to a boring note for note cover go somewhere with a jukebox.   If you want hard hitting, high energy Rock, see these guys.

So all I can tell you is go see these guys they kick ass!  Check out www.outonbail.biz for more info and gig dates.

Rock On!  And see you at the next gig.
